Look at my dog, My dog is amazing :D

Im not going to lie.
I didn't do anything today.
Well, thats not entirely true
I did go outside for the first time in about 4 days…
Had to give Reilly a cuddle…think he was starting to miss me.
I cant figure out where the day has gone though…

I didn't actually wake till about half 11…which is a major sleep in for me…
And only happens really, when Im sick
I had a dream about Ann-ita last night as well
And woke up with the whole inside of my right cheek, bite
I don't grind my teeth in my sleep anymore…but I've gotten into this nasty habit of biting the inside of my cheek, which really hurts, quite a lot…

Helen and Bridie stopped over for a little while…
what else…
I made a video of my feet crunching snow…
because dad said the donkeys were going made this morning, with the sound their hooves were making as the crunched the ice, on top of the snow…they sort of started off walking, then as the noise grew, they all started running…
He said the noise of them was terrific…if a little scary and he went down the fields to try and calm them, but they wouldn't come to him at all…and he's like a donkey whisperer…so they totally spooked themselves…

Squeek has hung out in my room all day today again…not complaining…I love that cat…

I'm determined to do something tomorrow. Im feeling a lot less sick today…but I don't want to push myself too much, because I really want to get completely better, as soon as possible.

Mite do the tiniest bit of sewing now, to tire me out…couldn't fall asleep last night for the life of me…it just wasn't working

:(

Part 2

5. This ring is amazing

6. I would like all trees to be candied coloured

7. I would like some more owls...just to have them, because they are lovely

8. If I wasn't such a hippy, I would love to do this

9. And I think this is amazing

All I want for Christmas...Part 1

Dear Santa,
I know, its been awhile, and I suppose I am a little too old to be asking you for things...but I think this year, I really do need your help...If you get me all I ask for, I promise I'll never ask for anything, off anyone, again...

1. This particular Blythe doll...I think that that is the most reasonable out of all my wants this year...well, its the most realistic anyway...the rest are just, you know...if you could magic them up, that would be awsome

2. If you could possibly just, (how can I put this so that I don't sound like a psycho...) ask Sara nicely, to get into a massive bag/box and place her next to the christmas tree...please insure that she is comfortable in there and has plenty of food and water :)

3. Just make my ears like this...so when I wake up, its done, and I don't have to think about it anymore

4. I like this...Its sweet.

My Day

Right...In pictures...My favorite things...pictures that is...not these particular things found in the pictures...

My "chritsmas jumper" that I possibly wore maybe twice when I was probably around...12, or 13...Found it in a bag, along with several other forgotten things...Decided the sleeves would make nice arm warmers for the Christmas season...as I don't wear red...I sort of have to Christmas myself up in other ways :)

What I was wearing today...pink dress...teal skirt, dark purple tights, teal chucks, teal vest, light pink lace leotard, emerald green bolero and pink scarf

The view from mum and dad's window...dad came down announcing that one of us would have to take a picture of the trees poking out from the mist...

Squeek kept me company again today...she was welcome to

I was SO sick of my face...

So I put the cats up instead

Squeek keeping large paws company on the bed

Organised chaos...the only way I can work

Today's skyscapes...so pretty

My favorite tea cup with buttons, and a doll's face that I found on my travels, from years ago...what more could I ask for?

I made something lovely today, but I'll wait until its totally finished then I'll put it on the art blog...watched yet more Harry Potter, and the Aristocats, and Moulin Rouge...Im feeling a little better today, definitely not as bad as yesterday, or the day before for that matter...

I am convinced that X Factor, along with Facbook...are both the work of the devil...sent for the ruin of souls...so I may be avoiding both...quite a lot...from now on

Nite Nite xxx

Sick Day

Ever since, I grew up...I guess you could say...
Whenever I've gotten sick...because I'm older now and everything, and I've had to start looking after myself...the one antidote I can count on, and I take by the truckload are heaps and heaps of Harry Potter.
I remember when I got Crypto, in Riverside...the first year me and Alex lived together in Galway...I was so so so ill that I really did think I was going to die...honestly...no exaggeration...I think the only movie we had was the 4th one, as well...but it didn't matter...I just had it on replay...and it really was the only thing that brought me any comfort...that was a rough few weeks, I can tell you
I wouldn't wish that shit on Voldemort...

I feel like a slight poser...but I think I've made up for it in recent years...I don't know what it is with me, but I usually go away from hype...I just...don't go there...and if someone is telling me "you must, you must you must..." I usually stay away, and don't...I'm trying to break that habit, because its stupid...but anyway...when Harry Potter first came out, I avoided it like the plague...I didn't want anything to do with it...mostly because I thought it was going to be pure shite, and I wouldn't like it, what would be the point...blah blah blah...
Then, in first year here, I was either given the first book, or, seeing as things had died down a bit, I decided I would investigate, and see what all the fuss was about...(much like what I did with Twilight).
I got about halfway through the first book, then had to start reading the Hobbit for school (and I cant read more then one book at a time)...so Harry Potter got left to the side...

I don't think I got back into it, until the 4th movie came out...then I totally fell in love...Im not sure what did it for me...but that movie...well as Ive already said, its a complete tonic...but yeah...that really sealed the deal...

I think, maybe in a strange way, Harry Potter reminded me of Kylemore...(something else that is like a love story...or affair...or saga in my mind)...and because of that, it equals instant comfort and happiness...but also...I did read all the books, and I read them all over again last summer...and they are amazing. They are very very well written (unlike Twilight, which appears to be written by a blind, handless, sock, devoid of imagination or sense)...so much so, that you can easily read them over and over again...which is lovely.
Not only that...but the films...which they are...are getting better and better and more and more mature, and dark as the story progresses...which is beautiful...and I could eat them up with a spoon :)

Today, while I was hacking up a jumper...oops...I had The Order of the Phoenix on...I think it played 2 or 3 times...I didn't even feel the time pass...thats how wrapped up I become...and so help me...as soon as I am well...Im going to Castlebar to see the new installment...if I have to walk there barefoot, through 6 meter deep snow drifts...I am going to see it, and that is final...
Because it does mean something to me...Harry Potter has been at several significant parts of my life...when me, al and the boy went to London, the summer before last, we went to see The Half-Blood Prince...in one of those big cinema houses off Leister Square...The books got me through that summer...which was an uncertain one, as I didn't know if I would be getting accepted back to do 4th year...They are also the first series of books that I've ever read...really...the only books that I've ever read, that I wasn't forced to read, that I truly enjoyed...I'm not much of a reader, if there's not pictures...but because of how well they are written...you can make your own pictures...so easily...it is effortless...you don't even feel like your reading them...

I love love love Harry Potter...so when I stumbled across this today, it made me quite sad...this has obviously been such a huge part of Daniel Radcliffe's life...and now that its all over...well...you know...it must be hard...for all that to just...end...

I know that they are all going to go on and do really well for themselves...if they don't crash and burn, which I'm hoping they wont...I hope they all stay grounded and have strong careers...and try to not get sucked into the machine...it is sad that Harry Potter has come to its end...but all good things come to an end, don't they ? :)

Fail Day

Wow...today could not have been any less productive if I tried :)
I didn't officially get out of bed till about 11...dad peeped his head in...then left swiftly when he didn't see me stir...
Woke up with tears in my eyes several times last night...I had such horrible dreams...
One of which involved my forehead swelling like a beluga whale...i think there was a tumor in it...but no one would believe me 0.0
another part of the dream, i was watching a play...but, it was very strange...the actors were sort of coming in and out from behind the curtain...then there was all this interactive stuff between them and the audience...and i really hadn't a clue what was happening...

as soon as i got up, i put more clothes on me...i didn't actually start to warm up till around half 3, 4 o'clock...ive been getting wicked chills all day...some one, somewhere, is doing riverdance on my grave...

dad is putting more insulation in the attic, which means that everything had to come down, and out of the crawlspaces...which i then had to go through...found a few bits and pieces that could be useful...but mostly just papers...school stuff, and stuffed animals...i did find a bottle of coke (which must have had some sort of significance at one point) and a bag a clay...
i do wonder sometimes about what possessed me to bring half the things i did...when i look at old pictures, i don't even really see myself anymore...its like im looking at someone else...the two lives are so different...
even here, i think i have lived at least 3 completely different lives, and im on to my 4th now...
odd
yes, so then...
i couldn't hack anymore, my head was spinning and i was literally going to keel over so i just laid down in bed...squeek came to my window shortly after, i let her in, and she curled up with me, which never happens, and she's still there...which means she's been in the house for about 8 hours...which i think is a record for her

after nearly choking on some pear drops...mum forced some cabbage into me...
then i watched a bit of tele..."have i got news for you" which i lolled all the way through...and then coughed and sneezed...

then, we played scrabble...

mum always wins, without fail...but she's really into crosswords and that, so i don't even try to compete...dad, despite not even doing his junior cert, nearly always starts off...and then almost always comes in a close second...because he's jammy, and just adds 'es'...or 's' to the ends of things...but he enjoys it, so i let him off :) i got a few good ones, but i was still about 30 pts away from both their scores...ah well...

im hoping that ill go to sleep and wake up better...ive taken so much of everything, that im starting to think that they are actually canceling each other out... 0.0

i don't like being sick one bit...
its really not fun...

and neither is putting out the cutest cat in the world :(

Art

"talking about art is like dancing about architecture"

i remember watching a program when we first moved here…i was sitting on the couch in nana's house where we were living at the time, and whoever was on the telly, said that line…i immediately wrote it down on whatever was to hand, and it has stuck firmly in my mind ever since…which is unusual for me…i normally forget things right after they happen…it must mean a great deal…

i don't talk about art
i pretty much point blank refuse.
i definitely don't talk about art with folk who are not part of the 'art scene'
because, quite frankly…there usually isn't much point
talking is one thing
arguing is another
fighting is another thing altogether

and i would rather not discuss something that, as above...there really isn't any point discussing something that is so subjective. unless you are both on the same side…talking about what you both like about something, then really…your just playing fisticuffs…and thats not fun

i think also…because of where i have been the last 5 years…its not that i don't know what i like and don't like…but i can nearly see something worthwhile in everything…i can try and find SOMETHING that i like…because ive had to do that for so long…it not so much instinctual anymore.

of course i know what I LIKE…but usually what i like, you cant really talk about in any great depth…because its arguable whether or not it is really art at all! :)
what is art?
we could be here all night…
sometimes i forget what it is…and truth be told…i became so disillusioned at points (or all) of this year…that i wondered what was the POINT of it at all…what had i gotten myself into…how would i argue my case…what is art…what is its purpose

thats when i go running to jane
she reaffirms my convictions…when i have forgotten them…

art is something that artists…REAL artists…have to do.
it is like breathing
and it can take any form
it can be doodling…singing…writing…driving REALLY WELL…tidying your SPACE…making a gorgeous dinner…getting dressed…and of course painting, sculpting, taking pictures…editing films and all the rest…
you can do ordinary things in an artful way
you can listen
and talk
artistically

thinking is almost more important then the end 'art' piece…
i have done so much work in my head the last 2 months or so, when i actually do make a space to work, i will belt it out like no tomorrow…

art isn't about being creative…everyone can be creative…
and thats where a lot of people make the mistake…
the… "i thought when i went to art college i could do whatever i wanted…blah blah blah"…
yeh
i know
i said that…and got the shock of my life when it wasn't like that at all

art is about saying something
working things out
it really is like math
or a scientific experiment
or surgery…finding the things that work, and cutting out all that doesn't…
removing the disease, and saving the healthy material.

and no one understands, except the people who are directly involved in it
how difficult it is

our EVERYTHING goes in to our art
all that we are
everything that happens to us
our experiences, good and bad, directly feed the force within us that MAKE us do and make and create and work on what we do

its a hard one to justify
when there are 'more important' things to be doing…
but, what would the world be without art?
a very sad place indeed
a place without music, and movies…colour and images…

artists are the facilitators and creators of culture…
they are the problem solvers, because they think, in such a way that there is no box…maybe they are standing on the box…or cutting it up in such a way as to fashion it into a kite…that they could use to catch the breeze and be dragged somewhere else…

art is essential
it is everything
everything is art
you just have to choose which discipline you slot into
and live it
