...

No, I didn't find what I was looking for...which is just great...
But, rest assured that it will all get sorted in time, or at least that is what Im telling myself...
For now, here are some quick picks from the day...after I came in from the shed to find nothing that I was looking for...I mite start opening boxes tomorrow...or I might just leave it and reprint the thing Im looking for.........

This little guy, sitting next the the very first owl I ever made...a couple years ago...is for me...for keeps...because he. is. just. too. cute. to let fly off...I love the odd buttons...the slightly off beak...and the colours in general...he's a sweetie canary bird...not an owl at all, I don't think...so cheeky looking...

My little troupe of owls...and my owl hand singer. Love that thing...even if i never use it...its still nice to have and look at...

Just so you get an idea of scale and use.

And again...birdies...they really *pop* against that yummy blue...

I think Ive gone off the idea of eating...not really sure what is wrong with me, but I just cant be bothered with it anymore. Its too much effort ALL THE TIME...I just sort of want someone else to do it for me...and eat it for me...and fill my belly for me...so I don't have to think and cook and chew and swallow...so today...after no thought or effort, I made tomato soup...with spinach and linseed and sesame seeds and tabasco sauce...it was alright...but..yeh...wasn't exactly inspiring...

Then, because I am actually so sick of tea...I made a frothy coffee, which was alright...its more of an excuse to use my cute little blue Denby mugs, cuz mum wanted one too...I <3 mugs...I have a collection that is steadily growing, eventhough I have no where to put them...and really...you can only use one mug at a time...why I need one in every colour/style/size/genre/weight etc, is beyond me...but I love them...I love them when they have matching saucers...and when they don't...and I love having loads of different ones...lots of different shapes and pictures and sizes...Denby and Royal Tara are my favorites so far...but Im open to suggestion...and taking in strays...when ever they are offered to me...

Mum and dad had bacon and cabbage again...thats twice in the last two weeks...Im starting to wonder about them..And also started wondering about what I was going to have for dinner, that would take minimal effort...time and basically no clean up...so pasta it was, with green peppers, cucumber, those little sweet/hot red peppers...some philly and some natural yoghurt...so quick and simple and tasty...

These are the handmade labels for all the little critters and broaches...The heart is a spongy sticker...that Ive been saving for special occasions...I need to stop being so precious with things...I cant take them with me once Im gone...mite as well use them while Im here...yes ?? :)

I watched Chaseing Amy, for the first time, ever…today, when I was making labels for the owls and bits and pieces…It is SO funny…I cant believe I hadn't seen it till now…there are so many one liners that actually had me in stitches…definitely better then Mallrats…Im not sure which one came first, but Chaseing Amy is…well its something else, thats for sure. Makes me miss Jersey, and long for whatever sort of misspent teenage-hood I would have had, if we had stayed…
Parallel universes and all that…
Sophie used to say…"in a parallel universe, where my hair is straight, and so are you"…she was a funny ole thing…
But it does make me wonder, what if…and so on and so forth…I know there is little point, and Im not one to dwell in the past, or long for by gone days…or even reminisce…its all, past, present and future, very…fluid. I don't really feel like there is much of a difference….
Its just…its all so different…My past, I don't even see it as my own…because its so different, to my present.
There isn't a clear, defined cadence…it didn't go smoothly from one thing to the next, to the next…
Rambelling…right, any way…tomorrow should be something else, altogether. Have to go to town, need to drop off my little bundles of j.o.y. to Jane, then sit in the car for a few hours up to Monaghan…finally going up…like a week later 0.0 to see herself…and then down again, nearly as soon as we get there, so were home before nightfall…

Im going to post off my drivers thingy…now that Ive come across it again. Hopefully get that sorted…so I can start driving in January…and have my test over and done with before April…Im being optimistic, I know…better late then never I guess…

I need to sort out a few Christmas presents over the weekend…there are people that I wish I didn't have to get for, but I know that they are getting me things, so I HAVE to get for them…Im all about giving…Id be quite happy if I didn't get anything off anyone, that would be ideal, because then I would be able to give to the select few who I love and adore, instead of feeling to need to get silly token presents for everyone, just to cover my ass…there really isn't anything worse then showing up somewhere and someone you didn't expect hands you something…and I know that its all about the giving at christmas, but it REALLY isn't with some people…you see that look in their eye when you take whatever it is off them…that "where's mine" look…that look that scares the very life out of me…
So im just going to go through a list of people I know Im getting things off…get them lovely things, and then cover the rest of them…
Christmas really shouldn't be like that…but what can you do…what can you do.
I would rather get a card, with lovely things written in it, then some meaningless trinket, or bit of nothingness…Id rather get nothing, then something that is forced.

And so, with that little chuck of junk I leave you...the internet is finally working properly for the first time all day...and I vow to be in bed before 3 a.m.....I need to be functioning tomorrow, so help me...if its the last thing I do

panic on the dance floor

Ok...not quite...
But I do think Im experiencing heart palpitations
Because I think my all important portfolio may be in the shed
0.0
And I cant get to it
Because Dad has BOTH of the garage door openers with him...
>:(
I thought it, LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE... was under my bed
But alas, after spending the last half hour pulling everything out
And going through all my other portfolios of CRAP...I didn't manage to find the goods
None of the good stuff
Which wont be good anymore if its been in the shed for God knows how long
Actually feeling quite dizzy...I hope he comes home soon...so I can freeze my behind off and hopefully NOT find anything...I hope it isn't out there...if its not out there, there is still hope that its in here, somewhere...hopefully
o.O

but where...is the question...
and WHY IS IT NOT IN IT'S SPECIFIC PORTFOLIO CASE
what was I thinking...what possessed me to put it in such a 'safe place' that now I cant even find the blasted thing...

I really hate myself...in moments like these...

One of those zippy-e-do-da days

As I said in last night's post, I need more felt...So, failing to get started last night, I spent this morning, what little was left of it once I rose my corpse from bed...making felt. Felt is, it has to be said, one of the few things that swayed me into choosing textiles...which is odd, seeing as I never used it, once first year was over and done with..possibly because my lectures called my felt samples 'twee' and "kitsch", both of which I didn't know the meanings of at the time, and still don't fully understand why either is a 'bad' thing...
Felt making is, labour intensive, for what it is...Its just felt, after all, at the end of the day...just a base, well my felt is. And my felt is poor, at the best of times...but when I see swatches of Marino wool, my heart does a little dance, and I nearly feel like singing...I suppose Art College was good for something...I have a small stolen supply of wool in the colours I like the most...
Aren't they lovely?

The only thing Im missing really is a carder...but God gave us fingers and hands for a reason I suppose...
I do love brush the wool out and getting all the fibers in the right order...Im so sad...but what can you do? So I was at that for quite awhile...I made dark blue, teal, light green, light blue with gold flecks and deep pink with green flecks...I think the most fun is the actual 'washing' part...all soapy and warm water and bubble wrap and sudsy lovely felt :) Thats how those feckers roped me in to textiles...damn them...There is something so very...empowering mite be too strong a word, but I cant think of anything else, right at this moment...about making 'cloth' out of really nothing...to know that you can make fabric, just by crossing over some wirey fibers...its a nice thing to know I guess...

Then darling squeak came in, as she is now in the habit of doing...I think the pads of her little feet look like pink jelly beans...

I love her company...

So this is what I have to show for, literally hours of work...5 quite small pieces of pretty crap felt... :D but they will come in handy, Im sure...Mum got me dark green fabric dye today, so Im going to dye two dresses tomorrow...if I have enough salt...which I doubt... o.O It would be typical of me to forget one of the key ingredients...wouldn't it...

Dinner...Mushy peas (and I don't care what you think of them, I think they are lovely) and Ryvita...I didn't really feel like anything too crazy tonight...The last few days Ive had proper dinners...but today...effort and everything...cant beat mushy peas...cant bate them with a shtick...

The moon...just a sliver of a thing tonight...so lovely. The moon, the ocean and mountains always give me a lot of hope. It I can see the moon, nothing else really matters, within reason...Its the one thing that we all have in common...It is over all of us. And if you look up and see it, chances are, so is the person you are thinking of...Mum says that sometimes, when me and the boy are both gone...she looks at the moon and remembers that it is over all three of us...So that no matter how far we all are away from each other, we're never really that far...

Midnight snack... this ^^^ has been my weakness the last two- three days...after sitting in the fridge, idle, for the last couple months, Ive started attacking the chilli pickle with such a vengeance...but it is oh, so good...if you like indian...or extreme heat...then this bad boy will not fail to deliver :) I used to stir it in to rice, if I was having broccoli/peas/peppers...etc...to lift it all and give it a good kick...now I just lash it on to some toast with mature cheese :) With tea, you cant go wrong...

As I have watched basically all my dvds, bar my collection of L Word (which I will prolie dive in to tomorrow) or my series of Carnival (also...tomorrow...) I watched Atonement (which I love) and Babe, Pig in the City...Now, Babe is just fantastic, there is really no denying...and there are some good little one liners that make me laugh so much that my dad came in to check on me...Ferdinand, the duck, and one point says... "A, they weren't very nice people, B, their long gone...C is for Comikozi and D is for delusional, which is what you are in the head"...I hope one day I get to quack shout those words at someone...

Squeek comes to my room to canoodle with large paws...it actually has NOTHING to do with me...

I made 3 more owls, but didn't take any picks, and Im not about to in this light...it will have to wait till tomorrow...

I don't really know how I feel about today. I don't know if I got a lot done. I did get a phone call from Emma...I never get phone calls...they always scare the by-jayzus out of me...because I assure, if your calling...that means there is something VERY important, that cant be said in a txt, or email, or facebook...thingy... (isn't it terrible that I associate the HUMAN VOICE with PANIC and bad things???)...It was a lovely chat...I love talking, and its really nice talking on the phone, when you haven't been able to leave the house in days and you miss HUMAN CONTACT...

Tomorro, Im going to make labels...and get up before 10...this sleeping in thing has totally messed with my internal clock...hopefully dye those dresses and do some much needed laundry...I have to
START MAKING MY CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR PEOPLE...
I keep forgetting all about it, and time is ticking on... : / ...procrastination is NOT my friend...I have to stop acting like it is...

I also have to stop writing things here, and then immediately after they are written...delete them...
how is it quarter to 3 already...
3 am is possibly one of the loneliest times on the planet...and its even lonelier when your awake...I need to start sleeping long before this dreaded hour...

M and N

I think Im going to start recording mum...
She was telling me the other day, well, she was remembering, that...at some point when she was in the band in England...now this is going back the guts of 30 years I would say...
They had just basically toured the country and they were making their way home...and In one of the last stops...she thinks it mite have been Coventry...but she cant remember...they were playing relief for a bigger band...
After their set, they got off stage, got changed, set to listen to the other band play...
The other band was playing...but playing the a crowd that was chanting
"Bring Back Connie!! Bring Back Connie!!"  (Connie Gold was mum's stage name)
Eventually, the bigger band gave up, because you couldn't hear the music over the crowd, and mum and her band had to go back out and finish the set...because they had already changed out of their clothes...mum has a feeling she went back onstage in jeans...Im guessing she would have been more dressed up for her set...
Mum was a star in her time...and it was a long time too...Im sure there are still people of her generation that remember her, went to see her...had their first dance with their husband/wife while mum was singing...its something Ive never ever given any thought to...because Im so used to it...it doesn't even phase me.
When you grown up with something, you don't see it.
Im sure people payed to hear her sing...when Ive been given years of it for free.

Nana (mum's mum) is back in her nursing home, cast on leg, and rosary beads around wrist. The woman, who sometimes doesn't even recognize her own children...had a completely coherent conversation with my godmother/aunt when she got back 'home'...about how bad the weather was...and she shouldn't be driving out in these conditions...all while eating bacon and cabbage...asking where her teeth were...and why had they gone missing again...
Her mind amazes me...
Dad reckons its the change in air, from the nursing home to the hospital...has sparked something in her
Mum reckons its the rosary beads...Fr. Maguire...who was a very good man...sounds it from the stories Ive heard anyway. Nana commented on the beads saying..."these are Fr. Maguire's aren't they...well he must still be doing some good so" (He's been dead, a long time...)

So faith or air...Im not sure I prescribe to either...
I just think the human mind is an amazing machine...and as we grow older, as she does, it allows us to slip easily from one time in our life, to another...Im sure its great for them...I know its difficult for everyone else left behind.
But Nana does still have her good days...obviously...she has her bad too...but when they can be as good as that ^^^ the bad ones are definitely outweighed...
93 and still kicking...well...still thinking she can walk.
She's an amazing woman, she really is.
And mum is amazing too.

Im pretty rubbish with making decisions...especially when Im given options...I usually opt for passing the buck, and letting someone else choose, because I either don't want to be held responsible if something goes wrong...or I genuinely can't make up my mind...The fewer options the better...no options is best of all really...but that would be too easy.
I had a slight dilemma this morning, when both the horse AND the snowflake/flower thing looked well with the heart...I nearly lost my life...I even considered sending picture messages to a few people to ask for some critical advice...but stopped myself when I realized I only had 10 cent credit left...Knowing I had to make the decision MYSELF did, stress me out, a lot...
My heart was saying pony, my head was saying flower...
I know which one I would buy, but I'm a bit...mad...to say the least...
So I opted for...

I have another couple of those metal hearts...so I may pop the pony in to one of them...because he did look very cute...didn't he? :)

Then I had a sit, and a think...I wanted to make something small...a few 'small' things...and what do I love more then owls? Nothing...

I *love* the red one, because he just looks so sad...I cant bare it...I will admit that the orange one looks a little cat like in the picture, but I assure you, He looks very owly in the flesh...or felt as the case may be!

Speaking of which...because Ive nearly run out of felt, I going to go make some in the bath tub upstairs, so its ready for tomorrow...I want to make some blue and green owls...you see, and because there is no tv to distract me (the ariel has decided to take a nap it seems) and the parents are gone visiting...(to a place that has a tv so they can watch Corrie) I have the house to myself...and can do whatever I like, in the bathtub ^_^

Squeek could not have gotten any closer to me today...this cold weather has made her so affectionate all of a sudden...cute kitty cat :)

This is how I work...This is the carnage left at the end of a day of me sewing... :sighs:...
I mite just have a quick cup-a before I start tackling that heap...or making more felt owls ^_^

Slowly Slowly catch a Monkey

If you saw my bed you would think that I had a massively productive day...
Not so much...
Dad brought mum to work this morning, and then came back...because the roads are SO bad at the moment...
The time before 12, is a totally blur...I had breakfast and drank tea...and I think possibly laid things out to do for the day...got dressed of course...then settled down to work.

I like sitting on my bed to work, its closest to the radiator, and the window, which means I can distract myself by looking outside, and if Squeeky wants in, its handier...

Most of the day was eaten up sewing...the pain of which, has just caught up with me...I love sewing, it is one thing that I really enjoy...and it totally occupies me while I'm doing it...it can occupy me for hours and I don't even feel the time pass...
Dad interrupted my sewing to bring me on a food shopping trip, before we collected mum from work
The roads round the village are just sheets of ice...and he basically slide the  car everywhere...I started "The Deathly Hallows" on the way to Castlebar...I think this is my 3rd or 4th time reading it...

Shopping list in hand, I got one of those little trollies and made b-line's for everything. One thing that stresses me out, is supermarkets...and food shopping...and packing bags.
Since starting to have to do my own, I've gotten so bad...I never was like this as a child...but the last few years...yes...it totally upsets me

Especially when Im with poor daddy...
He doesn't do food shopping, and God love is, is very little help. I think I'll leave him in the car next time...although he was very cute at points...I caught him inspecting some super stinky cheese...he even GOT HIS GLASSES OUT
Which is a new thing...guess he's finally given in and realizes that he does in fact need them...
:)
So did that, got mum, and came home...
I barely unpacked the shopping when I started making dinner, I hadn't realized how hungry I was...
Made Thai Red Curry and Coconut noodle and vegetable 'soup'...which so yummy, and I made enough for my dinner tomorrow as well...

Then I went back to sewing, and although I don't have picks of the last 2 things I made, these will keep you going until tomorrow...

More to follow tomorrow :) I love that blue blanket in the background...probably the best thing I've ever gotten from Pennys...think it was a fiver and its queen sized, amazing and lovely colour...love it...

Harry Potter (x2) and A Series of Unfortunate Events kept me company today...Im feeling a lot better, thankfully, and hopefully I'll be totally back to working order tomorrow or the next day :)

I drank copious amounts of tea today...maybe a bit too much...
But I got things done, so I feel good about that :)
Cant wait to make more Shelkybean for Alchemy tomorrow ^_^
J.O.Y.
!!!!!!!

I heart Harry Potter

I remember, the last time I read the books...looking at Hermione's name and seeing "Ron" in it...and thinking, "I wonder if that was intentional...?"

Intentional or not, it's very cute, and when I found this, I literally melted ^_^

C.A.N.N.O.T. WAIT TO SEE THE NEW MOVIE
